Bundled together in one comprehensive package, Childbirth: A Multimedia Course and Resource Kit is 20 hours of instruction on the final stages of pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum issues and newborn care. Childbirth covers traditional hospital birth (including a 4 minute video of a live birth), but also highlights alternatives such as home birth midwives and doulas. And it's refreshingly neutral about controversial topics such as pain medication and breastfeeding versus bottle feeding. Extras include a glossary, templates for birth plan and birth announcement, a list of baby names and tips for planning a baby shower. The CD even includes color pictures of dirty diapers - gross, but reassuring for first-time parents who aren't sure if their baby's stools are normal. Even if you're taking a birthing class, Childbirth is a great resource for brushing up before the ultimate test.
