Dr. Philip Westbrook

Mr. Philip R. Westbrook, M.D. serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Ventus Medical, Inc. Dr. Westbrook has been the Chief Medical Officer of Advanced Brain Monitoring Inc. since 2001. Dr. Westbrook is Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA and has been actively involved in the Professional Organizations Associated with sleep Disorders. He served as President of the American Sleep Disorder Association (ASDA). He served as the President of Pacific Sleep Medicine, a network of sleep specialists in Southern California providing diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders from 1995 to 2001. He serves as the Chairman of Scientific Advisory Board of Ventus Medical, Inc. Dr. Westbrook served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advanced Brain Monitoring Inc. He served as a member of the Board of Directors and Standards of Practice Committee and was acknowledged by the ASDA with a Distinguished Service Award in 1992. He was a clinical fellow and Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN and founding Director of the Sleep Disorder Centers at the Mayo Clinic from 1980 to 1989 and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA from 1989 to 1995. He is regarded as one of the pioneers in the field of sleep medicine and is the recipient of the 2009 National Sleep Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. He is an emeritus faculty member of the Mayo Medical School (associate professor) and the UCLA School of Medicine (professor). Dr. Westbrook received B.S. from Stanford University. Dr. Westbrook received MD from Stanford University in 1960.
